In the latter half of this year, the E.C. printed an updated documentation for the featured efficiency labeling of products being brought into the market. Vehicles, electrical items, artificial lighting and many items which can be re-modeled to become less resource dependent, are expected to show sanctioned tags.

Essentially, these color convention identification are highly visible and the most preferable appliances would be positioned at the green area of the chart or designated A+++ to A. The lineup also names refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, dishwashers and home sealants among others. The formerly used label criteria ranged from A to G whereas this updated criteria displays from A+++ to D. There are many more improvements in this more recent labeling system.

Each form of resource efficient appliance should have its own type of tagging stipulations. For example, an energy efficient lamp should have stipulated annual usage criteria in contrast to an Energy efficient dishwasher would also include water usage and drying quality.

A few have been published to help save energy and help combat planetary warming. These include, the use of energy efficient home appliances. Lower our home heating thermostat a few degrees when no one is home. Make sure your house is well insulated. Completely turn off equipment we’re not using. Support green and forestation efforts. Help educate others about the importance of an energy efficient lifestyle. And my personal favorite, work at home instead an office location, if possible. These are just some recommendations put forth to help save our ecosystem.

After all that’s said and done, this is a great move being embraced by European countries since it goes beautifully with the US ENERGY STAR qualifications. Such decisions go a long way in an attempt to limit our exhaustion of resources and indirect destruction of our planet. They are not only welcomed by the present generation, but shall have a positive ripple effect on all future generations.
