There are three classifications for the geothermal energy springs: the low temperature that is but 194 degrees Fahrenheit; medium temperature measuring between 194 to 302 degrees Fahrenheit; and high temperature with a measurement of 302 degrees Fahrenheit or more. The functions of these springs also are determined by their temperature. Those with the very best temperatures are used only for the electricity generation of such energy. On the other hand, the moderate and low temperature resources are used in 2 ways: directly and as ground-supply heat pumps.

In direct use, the geothermal energy found within the water is used directly for a few functions like heating buildings, greenhouses, and a few holiday resorts while not the utilization of a pump or an influence plant. Ground-source heat pumps, on the opposite hand, use the bottom water as a supply of heat during the winter season and as a heat sink during the summer days.
